As soon as the Perseverance rover landed on Mars, there was a lot of negative comments on Mars missions. So this blog is about why the mission to Mars is really important. A lot of Mars missions were completed or under execution which raises the question, "Why MARS?"

It is the only nearest similar planet to earth. Else, the second nearest will be Proxima Centauri B which is 4 light-years away from us. 4 light-years away means it would take 4 years to reach Proxima Centauri B even if we travel at the speed of light.

The day temperature is about 20-degree Celsius and a rotation takes 24.6 hours on Mars. It has a similarity index of about 0.70 to a scale of 1.

The Martian soil can also grow crops and the planet has also got two natural satellites Phobos and Deimos as those can help to develop the climatic changes of the planet.

The magnetic field of a planet protects its atmosphere from the sun which is the reason for habitat. But it is believed that mars magnetic field disappeared about 4 billion years ago and so it is having a weak atmosphere.

Using current technology it would take another 10 million years just to double its atmosphere.

Is Earth Enough? பூமி நமக்கு போதுமானதா?

Some reports reveal that we have already occupied about 50 - 70 percentage of Earth's landmass. We are currently having 31 percentage forest area which won't be enough for the said percentage of human exploitation and 33 percentage of desert area is also barely used with respect to climatic balance on Earth.

பூமியின் நிலப்பரப்பில் சுமார் 50 - 70 சதவிகிதத்தை மனிதர்கள் ஏற்கனவே ஆக்கிரமித்துவிட்டார்கள் என்று சில அறிக்கைகள் வெளிப்படுத்துகின்றன. 31 சதவிகித வனப்பகுதி நமக்கு போதுமானதாக இருக்காது மற்றும் 33 சதவிகித பாலைவனப் பகுதி பூமியில் கால சமநிலைக்கு பயன்படும் என்பதால் அதை உபயோகிக்க நேராது.

Some reports reveal that over the last 200 years our own magnetic field has lost about 9 percentage of its strength. It may be the sign of losing ours. But some experts say that this won't be a threat since they suggest that for once in every 42000 years magnetic pole shift occurs and the time is approaching.

But finally, Earth is a perfect planet and it doesn't mean that we can overuse it.
